Song of Solomon 5:2-6
“Behold I stand at the door, and knock:
If any man hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him…”
Father, You knock on the door of Your own house, Your bride, because the latch is on her side. But she has become too comfortable. She refuses to open the door because it isn’t convenient. She doesn’t want to spend time with You.
Ominously the knocking stops. When we finally realise that and run to the door to unlock it, all that is left is the fleeting fragrance of where You used to be.
Some are happy with that they are content just to smell the fragrance of where You used to be. They are satisfied to hear about a revival, but not interested in meeting the “Reviver”. We could miss the opportunity to give God that for which He longs the most, our intimate worship and communion.
He is knock at the door right now. We have the key.
