Watch her…. Dress the colour of fire,
feet on the ground but spirit in the air.
The banner above her doesn’t weigh her down –
it lifts her. Eyes closed, not because she’s blind,
but because she finally sees.
She was clay in the swamp.
She was bound in the dark.
But the Son spoke. And the chains fell.
Now she dances.
Not to prove. Not to perform.
She dances because the prison door is open.
Because mercy rewrote her name.
Because freedom has a sound,
and it sounds like the wind in her banner
and the laugh in her chest.
Free indeed. Not someday. Not maybe.
